ECHO Chain Saw Carving Team Members Once Again Demonstrate Their Skill To Benefit Wetlands Conservation

CHICAGO, IL, May 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Members of the ECHO Chain Saw Carving Team will pick up their saws to carve masterpiece wood sculptures to benefit wetlands conservation during the Ducks Unlimited's Sporting EXPO in Grapevine, TX May 28-30.
Competing and using their special talents to carve for conservation efforts is not new to ECHO Carving Team members Bob King (Edgewood, WA) and Mike Bihlmaier (Marengo, IL). They and two additional team members are four of the best professional chain saw carvers in the US contracted by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment to serve as ambassadors for the brand and to showcase their art form.
The team has carved at DU events and donated sculptures to raise money for wetlands conservation during the period ECHO Incorporated also served as a corporate sponsor for DU's Wetlands for Tomorrow Foundation.
The ECHO Carving Team members are both commission artists and competition carvers. Their hybrid talent is unusual. A chain saw artist could work on a commission piece for months in his studio. The challenge of high level competition is to carve extremely well against the clock, while bringing out a personal interpretation of a pre-chosen theme. ECHO calls this type of chain saw carving "Full Throttle Art."
The Ducks Unlimited EXPO appearance will showcase both these skills. King and Bihlmaier will carve as many sculptures as possible within the time allotted and sell all sculptures on site to benefit DU's wetlands conservation efforts.
The DU Sporting EXPO is open to the public and offers something for everyone including: 3-D archery range, laser sporting clays range, climbing walls, hundreds of vendors, outfitters and guides, seminars, duck and goose calling contests, conservation information, and of course food, drink and fun. The event runs in conjunction with DU's 73rd National Convention.
Duck's Unlimited is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to conserving North American's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, DU has conserved nearly 13 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent.
